Training

Education and training.

The Wireless Field at Poldhu is world famous. The Marconi Centre tells the story of the young Guglielmo Marconi in the form of a short video and series of wall displays, concentrating on the events that led up to the great success of the 12th December 1901 transatlantic signal. As well as explaining the technical achievement the experience helps young people to appreciate the amazing social changes brought about by the advances in communications in the last century. The club is always eager to welcome school groups and can provide good facilities for all, the building and field being totally accessible by wheelchair. There is also easy nearby parking for coaches. Please contact the Secretary for more information.

The club is active in running courses for new members of all ages leading to the three levels of amateur licence.

We run the Foundation courses at the Marconi Centre, while Intermediate and Advanced courses are run in association with Helston Community College, where we are fortunate to have the benefit of laboratory and workshop facilities.

If you are interested in joining the club and becoming licensed, please contact the Secretary.
